Plasma Vs LCD TV - Glare, Response Time, and Screen Size
You want to buy a flat screen TV, and you are not in a position to decide whether to go for plasma vs. LCD-TV. Should be equal in the first instance, you know that the issue of burn-in is no problem, as it was before with Plasma TVs. You could say that it's not as bad as with the older plasma TV models. So that you can choose, what kind of TV you buy, there are three questions you must answer. Few guidelines presentedbelow.
Reflections and glare from the screen
The first question is whether the room where you can see the TV well lit or dark. This brings the question of ambient light. The light in the room is one of the most important factors when choosing plasma vs. LCD TV or vice versa. The quality of the images on a plasma television set lower than the ambient light increases in the room. LCD TVs generally perform better in a well lit room, when compared to plasmaTv.
Plasma and LCD TVs have different picture quality, and depends on the amount of ambient light present in the room people. A plasma TV offers a better quality of images in a low ambient light environment. Be a much better picture quality offered by plasma-screen TV in a dark room, with a better contrast ratio, and dark black levels compared to an LCD TV. If you would like to see a plasma TV to a well-lit room, the picture look dimmer than what you find in an LCD TV.This is mainly because of the glare and reflections from the ambient light.
But this little problem with plasma TVs has been somewhat taken care of. With anti-glare screen, which are used in some of the best plasma TVs, has the effect of light on the image quality has been greatly reduced. The screen in a plasma TV is made of glass and a special treatment, the glass makes the screen to resist glare and reflections of light. The anti-glare treatment to reduce the glass gave theReflectivity of the glass to a great extent. When watching the TV in a dimly lit room, you do not get the surrounding lights reflected from the screen of your plasma TV on the eyes. If you want to watch TV with the room lights, it's a good idea to buy a plasma TV with anti-glare coating. The top plasma TVs on the market today use anti-glare screens for the purpose of reduction of light reflections from the ambient air in the room.
Generally, if you are content with high-speed scenes a plasma TV is an advantage when compared to LCD TV. This is because their reaction time is less. Thus, the plasma TV is located right on top of sports and games. If you see fast-moving scenes as a sport on an LCD TV, you will see blurred At the edges of moving objects. Note, however, use that if you play a lot of time, a plasma TV is not such a good idea, because the susceptibility toBurn-in. There are LCD TVs on the market now to get faster response time, and it could be a model with a reaction time of 5 ms or less. You must just remember that when sharp image is important to you, a low response time (high frame rate) is a function that you should look for it.
Screen Size
If you have a large flat screens, plasma TV offers a slight price increase compared to LCD TVs. Even now, there is no plasma TVs on the market below 42 inches, but itis likely that we will soon see 32-inch plasma TVs with screen diagonals.
