I ordered this as a replacement for my other Sony 42 "Series A10, which had an optical block problem, luckily I had the extended warranty. I had this series is the Sony fanboy I've always been on the offers from Amazon's warehouse unit open window and was completely flawless, paid $ 1025. The PQ on this set is much better than my old one, but with some little quirks because of the technology. One of them is a torch "effect" in the corners and around edges screen is dark or black in a scene that happens in all these types of devices to a certain extent, but not a problem for me. There are some slight shift in color called "redshifting" of skin tones in a few scenes, but is not really noticeable unless you're a true / V freak like me. Sony is aware of the problem and are working on it, but I still see as a great thing, and it is only very little, if at all. It's like the color of the face of the player may vary slightly because it can block on the right color, but again almost imperceptible.
I would recommend this series, but it would be partial, because in my eyes Sony is doing something wrong, or almost. I like it, and that's what counts.
